We Shall Overcome, Some Day!

Before I pen down my thoughts in the article, I want to write a big thank you to Pete Seeger, the song ‘We Shall Overcome’ is an inspiring force!

Do you ever think about going somewhere, where nobody knows you and start a new life?

Mental Conflicts, Emotional Drama and Unexplained Pain; everyone is fighting a battle within. And what all of us just wish, is some escape!

Hint – “Let’s NOT try to figure out EVERYTHING at ONCE.”

Dear Readers, I can tell you over and over again to leave this situation or time which is tough as hell, but you won’t be able to, not until you are ready. One day you will get up in the morning and realize that this is not what you want to feel like anymore and trust me you will be done. And I think it’s important!

Things like people screwing you, fights with family, heartbreaks, loss of friends whom you thought would always be right beside you and that everyone has a past kind of feelings, which are full of tears, embarrassment and even laughter. You will experience the things that will shock you or even worst, break you. But then, there will be the time when you will sit back and realize that tough times come to people who can survive it and this is what you are.

Understand, there is always a season of wildness and a season of subtleness; news – the time right now is for neither. Don’t push yourself like fast-forward button in future that you haven’t recognized yet and even don’t be stuck in past. With all love, intensity and courage give “you” a brighter today.

Our struggles are never insignificant. Don’t hide, or refuse to cry out. We all are broken and we all are humans, and we are never alone. Sometimes all you need is probably 20 seconds of insane courage, just literally 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery. Your greatest need is to clean out the enormous mass of mental and emotional rubbish that is disturbing your mind. You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you would probably select your clothes. At the end of the day, we can either focus on what is tearing us apart or what is holding us together!

You can decide how long you choose the negative things affect you. You can close-down words of self-doubt against self-love. You can let go of yesterday and start fresh at any given moments. It all starts and ends with you. Your mindset is your compass!

Move, travel, take a class, take risks, and go to 2am people who have stood by you and are still standing holding you! In case, your 2am people list is incomplete – Well, Come Over! I don’t really mind whether we talk for hours, get blind drunk or sit in silence gazing stars. I know world down here just gets a bit much, and we all need to lose ourselves for a little while!

But Don’t Worry – We Shall Over Come, Some Day!

When Everything Goes Wrong!

When things go wrong, take moment to be thankful for the many more things that are still going right. Well, if you have still nothing to be grateful for,

“CHECK YOUR PULSE”!

So, the next time when you take life very seriously, and feel rotten, looser and every negative word associated to it – remember that we all are winging it here. No one knows more than anyone else the right way to live, so if things go wrong, remember that everyone is in the same boat. You are not alone here.

When things are really getting tough or totally wrong notice that you will still find it usually getting worse for some time more; but when things once start going right they often go on getting better and better. Don’t let over-thinking destroy your mood. Breathe and calm down. Never allow this “everything wrong” beat you down for too long; you can only move forward and make positive change if you keep a good mindset and allow the tough times to make you stronger.

Sometimes, we even create problems in our own heads that don’t really exist in reality. Stay mindful of your thoughts, and don’t let them control you. Ask this to self, “Is everything really going wrong, or do I just think that based on my perception?”

Remember that you are not a tree; you can move. When everything goes wrong, maybe the best choice is just to move on, set your sights on new horizons, and write a new chapter in your story.

I will recommend you a trick, sometimes try talking to a four-year old and an 84 year old and you will understand life again. Sometimes, we usually forget important lessons we have learnt throughout life that can help us through tough situations AGAIN. When we get a different perspective, it can make all the difference in how we react to a situation. Chances are that we will get our answer, as well as a whole new outlook on life.

Remind yourself all the time, that being afraid of things going wrong isn’t the way to make things go right. So, when things go wrong, SIMPLIFY!

Elvis Presley quoted, “When Things Go Wrong, Don’t Go with Them”. Sometimes, it seems that everything goes wrong, despite our best efforts to make things right. We can do everything in our power to make something work, but life might have different plans. Many of us feel as though we have no control over our lives, and while that might hold some truth to some extent, we do have the power to control how we react to situations.

Larger Than Life!

Everyone has a story to tell, everyone is a writer. Some are written in the books and some are confined to hearts. – Savi Sharma, Everyone Has A Story

With an early winter evening these days, with a cup of coffee and some good fiction reading I sit in my porch. During one of these evenings of solitude routine, I was reading the book of Savi Sharma titled ‘Everyone Has A Story’, I appreciate her art of moulding sentences and making us think about our story. I really wondered that day how much do we actually TRUST OUR STORY?! Is living like we want only a misconception? Well, I didn’t wanted “yes” for the answer.

Size a bit larger is important to exit normalisation. Though there is no doubt about the fact that average is perfection but why just be a performer when you are born to win and to have a well-deserved happily ever after! In the end of a life time don’t regret the choices you didn’t made and the dreams you didn’t fought for.

I was never sure what my purpose is and probably still I am not sure! It is a task of courageous to be one’s own superhero. It is funny how little things make me feel larger than life – the correct word, the most heartfelt song melody, the clearest messages, LOVE, and a novel to read by my window with coffee. If you are uncompromising, sarcastic, volatile, solitary lover, adventurous, monomaniacal, etc. Congratulations! You are indeed living a larger than life!

I do not wish to pursue any of my readers to be extravagant or overrate the materialistic but why we don’t rejoice acceptance to learn, leave or have mercy on ourselves with fewer disappointments. It is never too late to be who you might have been. We are not immortals but our story can be. Let the essence, our spirit, and all those of small things be immortalized by story we leave behind.

Don’t ask less for yourself and settle. You know why we admire superheroes; well I say we like them because of the drama, the stirring, larger-than-life aspect as the Kurt Busiek Quotes. It is never of how much we have, but how much we enjoy makes us happy. Not every-time the outcome is always what we desired but happiness is getting the lead role of life.

We are the heroes of our story; let’s decide to give ourselves a well-earned happy ending. Let the struggle of life be remembered as fights worthy won. Like larger than life, enjoy the cinematic and visual expression of what will make you laugh when recalling your life sitting in the lazy winter evening.
